Old St. Augustine, Florida

Beginning with the Spanish occupation of Florida, the State has some of the oldest unpublished records in the country. The St. Augustine Historical Society, a small upstairs room overlooking the bay area, has records written in Spanish, loose-leaf, concerning church records and other interesting materials. At this point, copies are not allowed, and one needs to be able to interpret the old Spanish letters!

Other than that, Southeasterngenealogy.com has collection some rate photos of grave entries inside old churches and graveyards, marriage records, etc.

Southeasterngenealogy.com is part of GeorgiaPioneers.com, home of 8 Genealogy Websites so members have access to records in 8 States. It is a good deal!
