Stories of Revolutionary War as told by the soldiers who fought in the battles

Did you know that over 230,000 soldiers fought in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, not counting the militia companies and that more than 80,000 soldiers applied for pensions?

The 80,000 records include a single card or from 1 to 200 pages of information! However, the typical file size of about 30 pages includes sufficient information about the enlistment dates, battles, and the officers under whom the veteran served. It also includes birth dates, locations, and bible records as proofs of marriages, etc.

Although many books were written about the battles, I was interested in learning who participated in each battle and their comments concerning it. In the words of the veteran, this facet of the book takes the reader from one battle to the next and details some of the hardships of battle.

Although we find books with names listed in battles, this information lacks the details or the real story. Anyone tracing their ancestors through the war would find the extra detail in this book interesting.
