Derelict Ships

Did you ever wonder how many ships were lost at sea? Should we have the count of those abandoned vessels, there is still the great count of those which sank.

Nevertheless, some fascinating tales have come from those ships which are found abandoned in the sea.

In May of 1823, the Integrity fell in with a derelict close to Jamaica, the decks and hull of which were showing a rich crop of barnacles. Her cabin was full of water, but a trunk was fished up which contained coins, rings, and watches. This salvage realized 3,000 pounds.
